Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser does the work on your own device. The page is not able to send your file anywhere, and it works offline once loaded.
Is it free?
Yes. No signup, no watermark and no limit on how often you use it.
Will my text get blurry?
No. Text, lines and drawings are kept exactly as they are, so text stays sharp and you can still select and search it. Only photos and scans inside the PDF are made smaller.
How much smaller will it get?
Scans and PDFs full of photos often shrink by half or more. A PDF that is mostly text is usually small already; if we can't make it noticeably smaller, we tell you instead of giving you a new file.
Why didn't my PDF open?
Password-protected PDFs can't be compressed here. Badly damaged files may not open either; we always say so rather than giving you a broken file.
